For authors

Before you submit, read the Aims & Scope. Scope, not quality, is the reason for most desk rejections at LJPH, and a scope rejection costs you five days here and a season somewhere else.

Pre-submission checklist

  • The manuscript is anonymised: no author names, affiliations or acknowledgements in the main file.
  • All co-authors have seen and approved this version, and each meets the authorship criteria on our policies page.
  • Data and code are available, or the submission explains why they cannot be.
  • Any competing interests are declared in the cover letter, financial or otherwise.
  • Figures are supplied at 300 dpi or as vectors, with captions in the manuscript rather than in the image.
  • The reference list matches the citations in the text — both directions.

What happens after you submit
