Tarkash Pradeep

Tarkash Pradeep (born 1984), whose real name is Pradeep Kumar, is a contemporary Urdu poet, author, storyteller, theatre artist, and teacher-educator. Equally comfortable in Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi, he represents a contemporary literary voice that brings together different languages, cultures, and poetic traditions. His poetry is particularly known for its accessible language, emotional depth, contemporary sensibility, and exploration of love, loneliness, relationships, memory, and the complexities of everyday life. His ghazals combine traditional Urdu poetic expression with fresh imagery and an individual voice, while his writing reflects the experiences and emotional concerns of modern life. Tarkash Pradeep has established a significant presence in contemporary Urdu poetry through his ghazals and sher. Rekhta features more than 90 of his ghazals and over 1,000 of his shers, reflecting the breadth of his poetic work and readership. His poetry has also been featured at literary gatherings such as Jashn-e-Rekhta, where he has participated as a young Urdu poet. His collection Udaas Logon Ka Hona Bahut Zaruri Hai, published by Rekhta Publications in 2023, brings together his distinctive poetic voice and contemporary Urdu expression.
