Biography

Hasan Nawaz Shah is a Pakistani Urdu scholar, poet and literary researcher known for his work on the literary and Sufi traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Born in Gujar Khan, Punjab, in 1972, he has been associated with the preservation and promotion of Urdu literary heritage. He is also recognised as the patron of Makhdooma Amir Jan Library in Narali. His literary interests include Sufi literature, Urdu poetry, biographies and historical literary traditions. His published and compiled works include Gujar Khan Ke Saharwardi Mashaikh, Kalam-e-Aaqil-o-Saudai, Tazkar-e-Shah-e-Ameen and Kulliyat-e-Haji Mohammad Aalam. His work contributes to documenting the literary and spiritual heritage of the region.
