Bharat Bushan Pant

Bharat Bhushan Pant was a prominent Indian Urdu poet and ghazal writer known for his simple, fluent and emotionally expressive poetry. Born in Dehradun in 1958, he later lived and worked in Lucknow, where he was employed in the banking sector. He learned Urdu and developed a deep interest in Urdu poetry despite not being formally trained in the Urdu script. His poetry reflects love, loneliness, relationships, human emotions and everyday experiences. He was associated with the literary tradition of the Urdu ghazal and was known for writing in accessible and flowing metres.
