Basir Sultan Kazmi

Basir Sultan Kazmi is a prominent Pakistani-British Urdu poet and playwright, and the son of renowned Urdu poet Nasir Kazmi. Born in Lahore, he studied and taught English at Government College Lahore before moving to the United Kingdom in 1990. He completed his M.Ed. and M.Phil. at the University of Manchester and later taught at schools, colleges and universities in the UK. He also worked as a news editor and reader for the BBC Asian Programme and served as a Literature Adviser to the North West Arts Board. His literary work includes Urdu poetry, plays and English translations. His collected works Shajar Honay Tak brings together several poetry collections and plays.
