Ahmad Mushtaq

Ahmad Mushtaq is a prominent Pakistani Urdu poet known for his refined, neo-classical style and subtle expression of human emotions. He spent much of his early life in Lahore and was associated with the banking profession, working with Chartered Bank in Lahore. His poetry is particularly known for its quiet, introspective quality and strong connection with the classical tradition of Urdu ghazal. He later moved permanently to the United States and lives in Houston. His literary work includes poetry collections as well as writings on other poets. He also compiled a book on the celebrated Urdu poet Nasir Kazmi, titled Hijr Ki Raat Ka Sitara. His Kulliyat-e-Ahmad Mushtaq brings together his poetic work.
