Aims & scope
The Lighthouse Review of Literature & Cultural Studies publishes literary criticism and cultural analysis that takes multilingualism as its starting condition rather than a complication. Most of the world reads in more than one language; most literary scholarship is written as though it does not.
The Review publishes close readings, comparative essays, translation studies and work in cultural theory. We read submissions on Urdu, Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Malayalam and Marathi literatures with the same seriousness as work on the Anglophone canon, and we will find you a reviewer who reads the language you are writing about. Translation is treated as scholarship, not service: we publish translator's critical introductions as standalone pieces.
We are fully open access. There are no article processing charges — the journal is funded from Lighthouse's trade list, which is a deliberate arrangement rather than a temporary one.
